Sie hat den wohlverdienten Durchbruch in den 80ern verfehlt. Jetzt als relaxte Hobbyband, mit einem Album alle paar Jahre, klingen Armored Saint sogar besser denn je. Ein Dudelsack-Intro geleitet in „Standing on the shoulder of giants“ den indirekten Titel-Song mit Tribal-Parts. „End of the attention span“ rifft herrlich old-schoolig los, der Refrain vereint lässig Gang-Shouts und Harmoniegesang. „Bubble“ ist rhythmisch etwas kniffeliger, aber dennoch ein Ohrwurm. Der Groover „My jurisdiction“ wird direkt von Joey Veras knarzigem Basslauf dominiert. „Do wrong to none“ vermischt ganz selbstverständlich 70s Vibes, Melancholie und moderne Riffs. „Lone wolf“ ist melodisch die größte Wundertüte, nur „Bark, no bite“ wirkt trotz Twin-Gitarren im Stil von Thin Lizzy zunächst sperrig.
