Neues Rock Album der ehemaligen OI! Punx.»Puro Amor« ist ein Album über die Liebe und das Loslassen. Darüber, weiterzumachen, auch wenn es schwerfällt. Vier Jahre mussten die Fans warten, bis die Broilers endlich wieder die Gemeinde um sich versammeln: 46 Minuten und 14 Songs über die echte, wahre, große und pure Liebe, mit all ihren Höhen und Tiefen. Vom ersten zarten Kuss, vom Knutschfleck zur Bisswunde, über das warme Gefühl eines Zuhauses, vom schlimmsten Streit bis zum schmerzhaften Verlust.
Partnerschaft, Familie, eine tiefe Freundschaft, die all das Vorausgegangene in sich vereint – wie die Freundschaft, die die Band vor 27 Jahren zusammengebracht hat und heute noch zusammenhält.
In einer Welt, die es zu genießen scheint im Krieg zu sein, haben die Broilers zumindest Frieden mit sich selbst geschlossen und das zugelassen und umarmt, was sie lange begleitet: Pathos, Emotionen, Kontraste. Da sind wuchtige Bläsersätze, Offbeats, da ist Soul und Rocksteady, da sind Flirts mit Power-Pop und Kitsch und das alles, als wäre es das Logischste und Normalste auf der Welt, neben drückenden Gitarrenwänden, fetten Chören und einem Schlagzeug, das nur nach vorne will. Und da ist auch die Verbeugung vor dem Proberaum, in dem sie 1994 als junge Oi!-Punks gestartet sind, um heute als eine der größten Rockbands des Landes ihren Platz zu behaupten. Diese eklektische Mischung trauen sich nicht viele. Die Broilers wollen es sich anders gar nicht mehr vorstellen.
Von Schulfreunden 1994 gegründet, spielt die Band heute ganz vorne mit. Mittlerweile erscheint die Musik der Broilers auf ihrem eigenen Label »Skull & Palms Recordings«, die letzten drei Alben erreichten Goldstatus, den beiden zuletzt veröffentlichten Longplayern gelang jeweils der Sprung auf Platz Eins der deutschen Charts.

In a world that seems to enjoy being at war, the Broilers have at least made peace with themselves, allowing and embracing what has long accompanied them: Pathos, emotion, contrast. There are massive horn sections, offbeats, there’s soul and rocksteady, there are flirtations with power pop and kitsch, and it’s all as if it’s the most logical and normal thing in the world, alongside oppressive walls of guitars, fat choirs and drums that just want to go forward. And there’s also the nod to the rehearsal room where they started as young Oi! punks in 1994, to now hold their own as one of the biggest rock bands in the country.
