An interesting song selection and exciting interpretations. Kurt Wagner dazu: „My idea was to see what might happen if I removed myself from the process and the content as much as possible. In doing so, what surfaced were elements that have always been there but maybe got overshadowed by my songwriting and process.“ Der Albumtitel bezieht sich auf die Umstände ihrer Gründung und das Bestreben, selbst zu „touren“: „It also seems to describe a life in music and the situations we created in our life as a band over the years. It’s been a trip…”.

Only one year after their last album „This (Is What I Wanted to Tell You)“, Labchop 2020 are already returning from the studio with a new record.

On „Trip“ the rock band from Nashville, Tennessee dedicates itself to the songs of other artists.

Six covers are waiting on the record, each band member chose one of them.

In addition to songs made popular by the Supremes, George Jones and Stevie Wonder, „Weather Blues“ is a previously unreleased song by Yo La Tengo bassist James McNew and a version of Wilco’s „Reservations“.
